Mazike Valley Lodge
Mazike Valley Lodge, the former Kyambura Game Lodge, a small, private and exclusive lodge has undergone an extensive refurbishment and rebranded to the NEW Mazike Valley Lodge.
Perched up on the walls of Queen Elizabeth National Park (Q.E.N.P), the opulent cottages of the lodge offers breathtaking views of the vast Q.E.N.P, the Maramagambo Forest and the Kazinga Channel in the horizons.
The Kyambura Gorge, verdant, rich tropical forest next to the Equator crossing . The gorge is home to an amazing array of wildlife and birdlife. Home to a variety of primates that include chimps, red tailed, white and black Colubus, vervet monkeys and baboons.
The cottages are spacious with king or twin beds, elegant dug in bathtubs, showers, flash toilets, vanities and wash basins with hot water throughout the day.
Mazike Valley Lodge is situated in Kyambura Gorge, also known as the “Valley of Apes” and apes in Luganda is Mazike, hence our authentic name that resonates well with our location and attraction. Mazike Valley Lodge sits on the Eastern side of Q.E.N.P and on the South Western part of the country about 370 KMS from the capital city Kampala. The gorge offers the most stunning views that one cannot find anywhere in Uganda.
The lodge is 370KMS from the capital city Kampala and can be accessed both by air and road. Drive time is 6hrs from Kampala or Entebbe and 45 minutes by air from Entebbe. Our closest airstrip is Kasese which is only 20 minutes away from the lodge, we are also able to pick guests from other adjacent airstrips that include Mweya and Kihihi. The location of the lodge is key to us as it connects the lodge to other key areas.
This was our base in which to explore the northern part of QENP and we had a very good stay. The lodge is outside the park so you do have to drive for 30 minutes or more to reach the attractions. It is located on a hill so enjoys great view. Our room was surrounded by many beautiful bird species. The cottage was quite small but has comfy beds and a nice outside seating area. have always loved this place! The rooms overlook the National Park just below you! I would have rated it Excellent if it was not for the 5am 'wailer' from the nearby community calling for Muslim prayers! The food was over the top, the lodging on cloud 9! Maybe because I had travelled with my wife. The chef was on point regarding the fact that my wife is a chili (hot real hot) eater! And the chef got it right. The Manager, always amiable. Thank you Albert and always at hand to ensure we are well supplied. I even took a beer in such a long time and it did not have an effect on me. The Morning call for our game drive was so perfect. And then finally, the sunsets while in the pool are the most beautiful. Aggrey ,N2013 Kampala,
Lovely staff Good view good rooms ...nice food ...but the staff are so awesome you ignore everything that is not upto the mark ! JOSEPH IS THE STAR OF THE LODGE ! ask for him ! He was very polite n very helpful just like all of them but the thing that stands out with him is his customer service n anticipation for our needs ! Bisharahindian,India
We very much enjoyed our stay at Kyambura Game Lodge. The views, including from our balcony, were just beautiful. We love staying in cabins with tented walls and modern bathrooms (the best of both worlds). The service was earnest. We found that service people throughout Uganda (and Rwanda) try very hard to please and those at Kyambura were no exception. And yes, there are lots of sounds... Sounds of nature and the sound of the Muslim Call to Prayer. We loved it all!!! J'Adore-Voyager,New York City
We stayed here for two nights during our Chimpanzee Trekking and Queen Elizabeth National Park safari. The view was amazing and occasionally included elephants! Our private cottage was very nice and comfortable. Albert and his staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The food was excellent and there was free wifi in the restaurant area.Geuleigh Harrisonburg, Virginia
I stayed here while on safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park and had a blissful time. The staff and owner were warm and helpful, and were always on call when I needed their assistance. The private bandas are spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, using natural materials. The food was very good and the dining area/bar/fireplace is gorgeous. I stayed during the low season and there were only a few other guests staying at the resort, which made it feel like a private paradise. Sarah R ,New Jersey
We stayed here after an incredible adventure with the chimpanzees at Kigale, on our way to see gorillas at Bwindi. Kyambura Game Lodge is close to opportunities for game safaris or river tours. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are large with comfortable beds. Furnishings are simple and handcrafted wood. Very good wifi access. Our thatched hut was private with a large porch overlooking the Park. GoWithGrace Wausau, Wisconsin
